How Meditation Changes Your Brain

By Jeff Griswold on February 23, 2012 / Categories: Blog, Research / no comments

Meditation has been around for centuries but today, thanks to advances in medical science, you can see the effect of meditation on the brain. MRI scans taken on people who meditate every day reveals changes in the structure of their brains. According to a New York Times report,

…those who meditated for about 30 minutes a day for eight weeks had measurable changes in gray-matter density in parts of the brain associated with memory, sense of self, empathy and stress.

Not a bad result, really. At Effective Learning, we are big believers in the transformative power of meditation but also know it’s not easy to do on your own. Sitting still and keeping your thoughts directed can be difficult and many people find it helpful to have a guide.

The programs in our Love Tapes and Effective Meditations series are perfect for leading you through the meditation process to make it a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Its goal-oriented approach also helps make the meditation very productive by helping you improve yourself in specific areas. Harness your mind through meditation and achieve your goals more easily.
